Join Go Glendale for an in-person workshop on bike safety on June 22nd. The workshop will be conducted by Nathalie Winiarski, League of American Bicyclists’ League Cycling Instructor.
Topics will include – how to perform a helmet check, how to perform a quick bike check and rules of the road. There will also be some snacks and refreshments for all attendees.

Bike & Walk to Work Day is around the corner! Go Glendale and Walk Bike Glendale will be hosting a pitstop at 800 N Brand on Wednesday, May 17 from 8 am to 10 am. Additionally, there will be a pit stop at Glendale City Hall from 8 am to 10 am, hosted by the City of Glendale.

More than 80% of bike commuters say they feel healthier and less stressed. Probably because they’re getting exercise, saving money, and doing something good for the environment. Be one of those people!
In 2022, many of us started returning to our jobs in-person on a more regular basis. Despite more regular commuting habits, this year’s Average Vehicle Ridership (AVR) survey demonstrates an even higher commitment to sustainability than last year.
Throughout the month of October, Go Glendale partnered with the City of Glendale to conduct an AVR survey with each of our eight member properties in Downtown Glendale. For one week, we asked you about your commute routines, your thoughts on public transportation, and ideas on what changes could make sustainable commutes to and from Glendale even easier. Go Glendale then analyzed and summarized these results, bringing you the final results in this post.

As a note, the Average Vehicle Ridership is a ratio of the number of employee/resident trips over the number of vehicle trips. The higher the ratio, the fewer vehicle trips are being taken in comparison to all trips.
Thank you to the eight properties that participated in the Go Glendale AVR survey this year! This year, we saw a decrease in telecommuting, along with an increase in sustainable modes, and a decrease in single-occupancy vehicle (SOV) trips. With transit frequencies back to pre-pandemic levels as of December 11th and more improvements happening in the coming years, Go Glendale is optimistic that this trend can continue in the coming months and years.
With an AVR score of 2.43 (when averaging AM and PM trips), we are still well above our goal of 1.25. However, there is still much work to be done to keep this number high as we continue to recover from the commute disruptions of the pandemic.
Increased frequency of Metro bus service and more trains across the San Fernando Valley are coming to Glendale beginning on October 23 and 24, respectively!
Revised Metro Bus Schedules
Metro will be making service changes beginning October 23, 2022 to help improve reliability and predictability across the system. These new service changes will increase frequency on Metro’s busiest lines and better match customer needs.

New posted schedules are now available and if you use the Transit app, Metro’s official smartphone app, a preview of the upcoming changes will also become available soon.
The following changes will be coming to Glendale beginning Sunday, October 23, 2022:
On Weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, schedules will be adjusted for reliability on Line 94.
On Weekdays Only, frequency will be increased on Lines 90 and 92 from every 30 minutes to every 20. For Line 180, frequency will be increased from every 12 minutes to every 10.
Revised Metrolink Schedules
The following day, on Monday, October 24, Metrolink will be making changes to its schedule to increase its service to more stations across the San Fernando Valley on its Ventura line, which passes through Glendale. In order to meet demand, Metrolink is augmenting weekday service to bring more trains to Northridge, Chatsworth, and Moorpark.
As well, Metrolink will be adding an express train to and from Downtown Redlands on the San Bernardino Line on weekdays and slightly altering its weekend Orange County Line service to coordinate with the new Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Schedule.

Train 118 (replaces train 148) departs Chatsworth at 4:50 p.m. and arrives at L.A. Union Station at 5:37 p.m.
Train 103 (replaces train 143) departs from L.A. Union Station at 6:58 a.m. and arrives at Moorpark at 8:10 a.m.
Trains 105 (replaces train 145) departs L.A. Union Station at 8:05 a.m. and arrives at Chatsworth at 8:52 a.m.
Train 115 (replaces train 147) departs L.A. Union Station at 3:50 p.m. and arrives at Chatsworth at 4:35 p.m.

Train 117 adjusted by 1 minute later, departs L.A. Union Station at 4:28 p.m. and arrives at Ventura-East at 6:16 p.m.
It is the time of the year again to survey residents and employees of our member properties about how they commuted to and from work. This year we are asking residents/employees how they commuted during the week of October 3rd to October 7th, 2022. The purpose of the survey is to enable the City to better understand how residents and employees commute and help guide the City’s future transportation plans and programs. The survey is a mandatory requirement of the City of Glendale and we need your help to encourage people to fill out the survey.
This survey closes November 4th and anyone who submits will be automatically entered to win 1 of 5 $50 gift cards to a local restaurant!

Improve your bicycling safety knowledge by joining us later this month for our virtual Bike Safety 101 Workshop led by League of American Bicyclists, League Cycling Instructor Nathalie Winiarski.
This is a one hour, off-bike class. We will cover the basics you need to know to make sure your bike is safe to ride and the rules you need to know when you’re out on the road.
This workshop is FREE and open to Go Glendale members. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
